Plasmodium vivaxGEN microhaplotype panel data

The study includes amplicon sequencing data on Plasmodium Spp (mainly P. vivax) derived from the vivaxGEN P. vivax microhaplotype panel, which includes 93 microhaplotype markers, several drug resistance candidates and a mitochondrial species determination locus. The marker panel and rhAmpSeq (genotyping by sequencing) assays were developed at Menzies School of Health Research, Australia. The marker panel was designed to accurately capture identity-by-descent between P. vivax infections from global sites, supporting probabilistic classification of recurrent infections (as relapse/recrudescence or reinfection events), assessing infection connectivity, and characterizing within-host infection complexity.
