Prometryn, or 2, 4-bis (isopropylamino)-6-methylthio-1, 3, 5-triazine belongs to triazine herbicides family, which is widely used to manage the growth of annual broadleaf and grass weeds in crops. Recent studies showed that prometryn has immunohaematotoxicity or genotoxicity and suppressed cellular immune response. Although prometryn could cause DNA damage, its influence on carcinogenesis remains unknown. Here we used human colorectal cancer cell line RKO which was trypsinized at 24h after 50µM prometryn pretreatment and total RNA was extracted using the trizol extraction method for RNA-seq to investigated the potential roles of prometryn in colorectal cancer development and try to clarify its carcinogenic mechanism. Three biological replicates were used for condition and used DMSO treated cells as control.
