Human gut microbiota raw sequence reads from RCT involving 8-week physical sports and VR sports intervention in adolescents with excess body weight

Here we conducted a randomised controlled trial (ChiCTR2300068786) involving 227 adolescents with excess body weight. We compared the metabolic, physical, psychological, and cognitive outcomes of the REVERIE sports (VR-based sports) versus a control group (regular physical education classes), as well as the Physical sports (real-world physical sports) versus the control group. A comparison between the REVERIE sports and Physical sports was also performed in an exploratory manner. Multi-omics analyses, including gut metagenomics, were conducted to provide comprehensive insights into participants distinct biological responses to REVERIE and Physical sports.
