Narrative Synthesis on Regulations for Weight Loss Supplements in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom

The document contains data of a grey literature search performed through advanced Google search to obtain articles on weight loss supplement policies in Australia, USA, and UK. The search using Google engine required a specified framework for the search to be processed. Unlike database searches, Google search does not accept truncation, has a limit of 32 words per search string, and nesting of keywords of similar phrases. Similar keywords to the peer-reviewed literature search were used with some keywords excluded to meet the requirement of 32 keyword limit (Refer to Appendix B of article). The Google Advanced search option was also used to select specific government domains for each country (.gov.au, .gov, and .gov.uk) to return results in the government databases relevant to the search terms. For the process to obtain grey literature, a maximum of 30 references for each domain was selected and each reference was further investigated to identify relevant cross-reference literature. A customised Excel spreadsheet was then used to perform full-text screening by two reviewers and a third reviewer to resolve any conflicts. After conflicts were resolved, a total of 28 grey literature articles were selected to be included for the systematic review
