High-resolution genome-wide essentiality analysis in Mycoplasma pneumonia

Mycoplasma pneumoniae is generally considered as a mild infectious agent, and its few pathogenic determinants are well characterized. Its reduced genome and simplified gene and metabolic networks makes it an ideal organism for synthetic biology applications. An original M. pneumoniae M129 strain has been maintained in the Serrano Lab at CRG during the last decade. This project aims to update the reference genome for the in-house strain to improve downstream genomic studies with this model.
