资源简介:
This dataset refers to the Final Report of the ISP round III project number
030, which has the name "Applications of multiple lead-time predictions in the
region of Central America and the Caribbean". The main objectives of this
project were to: 1) Improve and promote access to basic long-term
hydroclimatological data for researchers and institutions in Central America
and the Caribbean. 2) Identify and incorporate a suite of specific user-defined
phenomenological data and related economic sector specific data to be used in
developing applications for climate predictions produced by US and other
institutions. 3) Develop a set of applications to sector specific areas based
on quantitative GCM predictions using SST (ENSO) and other predictive tools,
such as the use of downscaling algorithms, and statistical validation using
ensemble techniques. 4) Evaluate the utility of the GCM forecast products
through the use of statistical forecast models of mean temperature and
precipitation at sub-monthly to interannual time scales. 5) Evaluate the
usefulness of the GCM predictions for individual user sectors. Determine
optimal information products for user derived from the model predictions. 6)
Establish ongoing mechanisms to continually provide two-way feedbacks between
the target user sectors and climate researchers. 7) Evaluate a range of options
for establishing direct technology transfer to the user community. The final
report for this project can be downloaded from this page (See instructions
below). Principal Investigator >> Henry Diaz, hfd@cdc.noaa.gov, NOAA.
