Replication data for: Party Positions on Immigration in Switzerland

Party positions on immigration in Switzerland obtained using different methods. Covers the main Swiss parties (CVP, FDP, SPS, GPS, SVP) 1991 to 2011 (mostly 1995 to 2009). Different methods are used to determine party positions: pooled expert surveys, pooled experts surveys (alternative pooling), manual coding of manifesto using a conventional codebook, checklist approach, automatic dictionary coding (Yoshikoder), Wordscores, Wordfish, retrospective survey, media analysis. For the retrospective survey and the media analysis standard deviations are recorded in separate variables; for the media analysis the number of claims recorded for each party/election year is recorded in a separate variable. Most methods are based on German language party manifestos (exceptions are: pooled expert survey, retrospective survey, and media analysis). Word frequencies (JFreq) are included in a separate file.
