Due to the coronavirus (Covid-19), 13 gigawatts of the global coal pipeline has been delayed due to workforce or supply chain issues. However, China has increased approval of permits for coal plants to 6.6 gigawatts between March 1 to 18, 2020 in order to stimulate its economy.
