From a sample of 50,000 tweets containing the words “Ebola” in French and English, posted between March 15 and November 8, 2014, two peaks were identified. This is the first one, starting on July 27 and ending on August 16, 2014. It contains 633 tweets. It is due to the fast spread of the virus, affecting countries like Nigeria, and to its consequences such as ban entries by countries like Liberia, South Africa and Kenya to travelers from West Africa, or the readying of the United States and Europe for a potential outbreak.
