SCP Taxonomy File

This dataset comprises 44 SCP species distributed across three kingdoms: Bacteria (n = 16), Algae (n = 11), and Fungi (n = 17). For each species, the dataset provides kingdom, phylum, order/family, crude protein content as a percentage of dry weight (range), and commercial relevance flag. Fourteen species are currently produced at commercial scale (★). The dataset includes four structured sheets: (1) Taxonomy Data — the primary species table with protein content ranges and notes; (2) References — primary literature sources for each species' protein content values; (3) Network Import — a structured hierarchical format used for dendrogram and network visualisation in Figure 1; and (4) Legend — column definitions.
