Nucleotide sequences for all MDA5-producing species were obtained from UniProt and aligned using AliView. AliView identified 83 stop codons in the human sequence, which were removed using a Python script. The script identified the first occurrence of the start codon <b>ATG</b> and adjusted sequences to begin at this position. The script ensured that the sequence length is a multiple of three, preserving the reading frame. Stop codons (<code><strong>TAA</strong></code><b>,</b> <code><strong>TAG</strong></code><b>,</b><b> </b>and <code><strong>TGA</strong></code>) were replaced with <code><strong>"---"</strong></code>, while headers from the original FASTA file were retained. The processed sequences were saved to a new FASTA file.
