Researchers developed a digital survey for residents impacted by Hurricane Ian in September 2022 designed to understand hurricane evacuation perceptions and hurricane preparedness. With the new use of meteorological messaging and maps used during the 2022 Hurricane season, this survey also explored the perceptions of storm surge predictions and the visualization of the hurricane track cone with their evacuation decision-making.
