Metabarcoding of Amargosa vole diet using paired end reads of the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS2) region of nuclear ribosomal DNA. The objective of our study was to estimate the diet composition of wild Amargosa voles using metabarcoding, microhistology and nutritional analyses. Amargosa voles are a US Federally Endangered Species restricted to rare marsh habitat in the Amargosa River Basin in the Mojave Desert.
