The 'Plants of Taiwan' Information Integration Query System integrates the outcomes of three National Science Council projects: the 'Digitization of Plant Specimens and Historical Botanical Literature of Taiwan' project, the 'Integration and Application of Taiwan Plant Names over the Years' online resource project, and the 'Digitization of Historic Museum Collections of Taiwan Deposited in Foreign Countries' project. The website is divided into three sections: Botanical Nomenclature and Basic Information, which is a database of Taiwan plant nomenclature based on the Taiwan Flora and supplemented by the integration of historical botanical literature such as the Taiwan Flora Dictionary, containing scientific names, synonyms, and common names in various languages (Chinese, English, Japanese, Hakka, Taiwanese, and Indigenous languages) of over 5000 plants in Taiwan. It also includes plant descriptions excerpted from the Taiwan Flora and rich ecological photographs to provide comprehensive basic plant information. The Botanical Electronic Books section contains 13 important botanical documents in the history of Taiwan plant research, including the first and second editions of the Taiwan Flora, the Taiwan Plant Catalogue, the Taiwan Flora Atlas, the Taiwan Flora Dictionary, and the Formosan Flora List. Through the digitization of these books, the plant references within will be more widely applied. The Digital Plant Specimens section includes the specimens owned by the Taiwan University Herbarium (TAI) and the Forest Environment and Resource Department Herbarium (NTUF) of the College of Agriculture, National Taiwan University, as well as rare plant specimens scattered abroad. The specimens owned by the Taiwan University Herbarium represent the results of over eight decades of exploration and research on Taiwan's plant resources, and are truly a national treasure. Through digitization, these specimens will be presented to researchers in their original form, achieving the dual function of preservation and public access. The contents of each section are interconnected, forming a complete plant information database where users can obtain comprehensive and substantial plant information.
