Protect and enhance heritage and environment on the Great Ocean Road

This project aims to protect and enhance environmental and heritage values on Australia's National Heritage Listed Great Ocean Road, along a 37 kilometre stretch from Torquay to Lorne. The condition and connectivity of the Great Ocean Road's ecological values will be improved to enhance sensitive coastal environments. Four main sites adjoining the Great Ocean Road will be targeted, but project works will be conducted across its entire length from Torquay to Lorne. Works will be implemented in partnership with coastal volunteer groups and include weed control, revegetation, erection of interpretive signage, fencing, stairway construction and track maintenance. The project involves collaboration with several community conservation groups.
