Sequencing of longissimus dorsi muscle of Songliao black pig and landrace pig

We selected six Songliao black pigs and six Landrace pigs with significant differences in IMF. The longissimus dorsi muscle tissue was collected from the penultimate third and fourth ribs, and total RNA was isolated from the longissimus dorsi muscle tissue using TRIzol reagent. Following the reverse transcription kit instructions (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA, USA), the cDNA library was prepared from the extracted RNA. After purification and enrichment, all libraries were sequenced using Illumina HiSeq 2000 (Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA).
