Microcystis aeruginosa is a toxic cyanobacterium which plagues freshwaters worldwide. The goals of this project were to measure the transcriptional response of M. aeruginosa to nutrient limitation and compare those responses across different forms of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus). Cells were grown under a nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) replete control, N-limitation (urea, nitrate, or ammonium), and P limitation. rRNA was subtracted prior to analysis.
