<p>This public opinion poll was conducted on February 19-22, 1988 via telephone with a sample size of 937 (632 white adults, 305 black adults). The topics covered include: family standard of living compared to 5 years prior, whites' attitude towards blacks, relationship between blacks and whites, the cause of poverty among blacks, government's involvement in helping blacks, perception of black leaders, and the actions of blacks to improve this situation.</p> <p><strong>Please Note:</strong> This dataset is part of the historical CISER Data Archive Collection and is also available at the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at <a href="https://doi.org/10.25940/ROPER-31089410">https://doi.org/10.25940/ROPER-31089410</a>. We highly recommend using the Roper Center version as they made this dataset available in multiple data formats.</p>
