资源简介:
Our study investigates the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients with primary IgA nephropathy in the Xinjiang region of China, specifically focusing on the correlation between various classification systems and the clinical indicators of this condition. Despite the global prevalence of IgA nephropathy and the recognition of multiple classification systems—namely the Oxford, Lee, and Hass classifications—there remains limited understanding of their applicability and reliability in diverse populations, including the ethnic minorities present in Xinjiang.
Through a retrospective analysis of clinical and pathological data from 408 patients diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, we examined the relationships between different pathological classifications and key clinical indicators such as estimated glomerular filtration rate, serum creatinine, hemoglobin levels, and more. Our findings reveal significant variability in pathological manifestations, with the Oxford classification demonstrating strong correlations with clinical outcomes, while the Lee classification appeared more sensitive in evaluating disease severity compared to the Hass classification.
This study highlights the importance of adapting renal classification systems to local populations, potentially informing prognostic assessments and therapeutic strategies tailored to distinct ethnic groups. We believe our findings are timely and will contribute significantly to the existing body of literature on IgA nephropathy by elucidating the clinical relevance of different pathological classification standards in a diverse demographic setting.
