The High-Value Patent Database for the Plastic Film Industry mainly includes invention and utility model patent data related to plastic film manufacturing from the global patent database. It conducts patent data retrieval and evaluation scoring via a proprietary algorithm, which helps understand the intellectual property (IP) filing status and geographic layout of the plastic film industry. By comparing the patent data of enterprises in the plastic film industry, one can assess the technological innovation capabilities of each enterprise. This database is built based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Starting from the patent valuation methodology, the patent value index system is divided into three first-level indicators: technological, legal, and economic value. Each first-level indicator has corresponding second-level indicators:
- Technological value indicators: number of independent claims, word count of the independent claim, remaining valid period (years), number of patent family members, number of cited patents, number of times cited by other patents, number of participating inventors, and number of involved technical fields;
- Legal value indicators: patent type, number of document pages, and number of invalidation requests received;
- Economic value indicators: number of transfers, number of licenses, number of pledge financing transactions, patent award score, and customs recordation score.

A three-dimensional matrix is established based on the first-level and second-level indicators. The corresponding data indicators for patent evaluation are obtained through patent interface data. The 1-9 point scaling method (minimum 1 point, maximum 9 points) is used to calculate the corresponding indicator weights. The weight is multiplied by the score of each indicator, and the sum of all indicator scores is the patent score. Patents are classified according to their score intervals: 80-100 is High-Value Patent, 60-80 is Important Patent, and below 60 is General Patent.
