"This paper presents a contingency-constrained unit commitment formulation that explicitly accounts for transmission losses and jointly considers generation and transmission outages under an N\u22121 security criterion. Losses are modeled through a piecewise-linear approximation with binary variables enforcing adjacency and complementarity conditions, which prevents fictitious losses and ensures a physically consistent representation of both pre- and post-contingency operating states. The resulting problem is cast as an adjustable robust optimization framework and solved using a nested column-and-constraint generation algorithm. To improve tractability, two acceleration strategies are proposed to enhance the overall computational performance. Numerical simulations on a three-bus system and on the IEEE 24-bus and IEEE 118-bus test power systems demonstrate: (i) the enhancements in solution quality achieved by the proposed lossy contingency-constrained unit commitment formulation, and (ii) the computational improvements in the decomposition framework are facilitated by the introduction of strategies that accelerate the optimization solver."
