Merged Housing Rent Dataset: Brazil and India (Normalized and Currency-Adjusted)

This dataset combines and harmonizes two publicly available housing rent datasets from Brazil and India to support research in predictive modeling, cross-country real estate analytics, and machine learning. The Brazilian data were sourced from Updated Brazilian Housing to Rent (Kaggle, CC0 license), and the Indian data from House Rent Prediction Dataset (Kaggle, CC BY-SA 4.0 license). Both datasets were standardized to a unified schema containing attributes such as city, area, rooms, bathrooms, floor level, furniture condition, and total monthly rent. To ensure comparability, the dataset includes unit conversions (square feet to square meters) and currency normalization (Indian Rupee to Brazilian Real). Missing and inconsistent values were cleaned and harmonized. This resource provides a valuable benchmark for researchers studying housing affordability, rent price prediction, and transfer learning between emerging markets. The data are fully open, reproducible, and suitable for use in both academic and industrial experiments.
