Soil Acidity Project - Liquid Calcium Compared to Limesand

This project will address the critical issue of soil acidity in the Nyabing region of Western Australia by continuing to evaluate the longer term soil pH changes resulting from the use of liquid calcium products applied in the seeding furrow versus top-dressing with limesand. Funding for the project will measure the impact in 2015 and 2016 on the replicated plot trial site which was established and treated in 2014 with six treatments, including liquid calcium products and limesand. Soil testing and yield data collection will be undertaken and the results will be extended to land holders through a soil acidity workshop, a publication, information made available on the internet, and use of local and industry networks.
