Text S1 contains the thermodynamic calculation for the proposed electron exchange reaction. Text S2 involves magnetite abundance estimation. Text S3 provides the EPMA analysis settings. Figures S1 to S5 present the petrological and geochemical features of the impact glass examined in this study. Figure S6 illustrates methods for identifying impact melts on the Moon. Figure S7 exhibits location of the Chang’e-5 landing site. Figures S8 and S9 show the impact melts exhibiting magnetic anomalies on the Moon. Table S1 and Table S3 present the chemical compositions of minerals and the impact glass. Table S2 outlines the characteristics of impact-melt-crystallized magnetite, which are generally in agreement with the impact-melt-crystallization formation mechanism. Table S4 summarizes information on impact melts exhibiting magnetic anomalies.
