资源简介:
Agromyzidae is a family of flies found world-wide, with approximately 2,500 known species. The larvae are phytophagous, or plant eaters, giving the family the common name of "leaf-miners". Although much remains unknown, researchers have found high degrees of host specificity, meaning some Agromyzidae species feed on only a single plant species. Due to their feeding habits, over a hundred of species are considered pests, attacking plants of agricultural importance. Their bites can cause irreparable damage, and may also result in the transfer of pathogenic fungi or viruses. Despite their small size (an average size range of 2 to 3 mm), they can definitely do some major damage. Please help transcribe the UHIM's leaf-miner fly collection in order to better help us understand their distribution and impact in Hawai'i.This expedition of 447 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.
