To identify the molecular mechanism determining the lineage commitment of bone-marrow progenitors, we compared basal gene expression profiles of progenitors committed to adipogenic or osteogenic lineages. We characterize several differentially expressed metabolic and signalling pathways. Two clonal cell lines were cultured in triplicates under standard culture conditions. Pooled samples were prepared for microarray analysis.
