Expression level of miR-124, miR-143 and miR-223, in primary cultures.

qPCR was carried out on 10 ng RNA from maturing neurons and neurons subjected to OGD to determine the purity of the primary cortical neuronal cultures. qPCR amplification was carried out for a maximum of 40 cycles. miR-124 was found to be significantly expressed in neuronal cultures +/− OGD. miR-143 and miR-223 were found to be significantly expressed only in astrocyte enriched cultures. Expression is shown as mean CT±SD. Three technical replicates and 3 biological replicates were used as described in the methods section. Statistical significance were evaluated using the Student’s t-test (**p<0.01).
