Resulting optimized parameters for the intracortical network model (Eq. 11) for experiments 1–3. Upper row: Layer-2/3 firing rate predicted from layer-4 input. Lower row: Layer-5 firing rate predicted from layer-4 input (where the subscripts ‘2/3’ are replaced by ‘5’ in Eq. (11)). The listed parameter values correspond to the mean of estimated parameters from 25 selected models giving essentially the same error (see Materials and Methods). The standard deviations are only listed if they exceed the last digit of the mean.
