We aimed to investigate 1. whether microbial rhythmicity in the rhizosphere microbiome persists under constant conditions and 2. whether this rhythmicity is dependent on the plant circadian clock or upon autonomous microbial oscillators. We investigated wild type A. thaliana plants and plants with overexpression of the core circadian clock gene LHY. Samples were collected at 3-hourly intervals over a period of 3 days.
