The Danes' Participation in Cultural and Leisure Activities 2004

The purpose of this study is to illustrate the current cultural participation of the Danish population (aged 7 and upwards), as well as the changes from 1964 to 2004, including changes in activity and consumption patterns as a result of new opportunities and activities. The aim is to dis­close relevant current cultural and political issues that can form the basis for political and cultural discussions, for research, and for the general orienta­tion of the population. The study of cultural participation 2004 follows up and updates the previous studies conducted in 1964, 1975, 1987, 1993 and 1998 (adults) and in 1987, 1993 and 1998 (children). The report contains two parts. The first part includes an analysis and review of the most significant results within the different cultural areas. The second part includes a number of different analyses to provide in-depth knowledge of specific issues. This section takes a cross-sector approach, focusing on, among other things, the development in the cultural participa­­tion of various population groups over time.
