VPRS 14321 Register of Inward Correspondence, Closer Settlement

This series registers correspondence received relating to the administration and application of the Closer Settlement Acts.Registrations consisted of the registered number, the dates of the letter and of the entry, the name and address of the correspondent, a summary of the subject of the letter and how it was dealt with. This last entry was most usually the number of the file to which the piece of correspondence was attached or a reference to a District Land Office. There may be within a registration, notations of the numbers of other pieces of correspondence received on the same subject denoted by a letter and a number.
