Thirty-minute time series of observed fluxes and scalars from the Canopy Horizontal Array Turbulence Study (CHATS) field project for land surface model evaluation
收藏资源简介:
The Canopy Horizontal Array Turbulence Study (CHATS) field project took place in a California walnut orchard from mid-March to mid-June 2007 (https://doi.org/10.26023/P4JW-9T0T-QG0S). For the 30-min data set provided here, we extracted a subset of the full CHATS data into 30-min time series with a focus on the above-canopy and below-canopy sensible and latent heat flux, friction velocity, wind speed and direction, and scalars (air temperature and humidity). These 30-min CHATS data are part of a study that evaluated the CLM-ml v2 land-surface model (Bonan et al. 2026, Beyond surface fluxes: Observational and computational needs of multilayer canopy models--A walnut orchard test case, Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, 378, 110960, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.agrformet.2025.110960). In all, 151 variables are included within the 30-min data set as described in the README_CHATS_30min_data.pdf document as well as in Bonan et al. (2026).
