资源简介:

This study/dataset explores pregnant women's decision-making about pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use in Lilongwe, Malawi, using qualitative methods. The research aims to address three primary questions: (1) What values, incentives, and disincentives shape pregnant women's and their partners' decision-making about PrEP? (2) How do these factors influence adherence to PrEP? (3) What information, resources, and support are needed to assist pregnant women in their decision-making from the perspectives of women, their male partners, and clinicians? A total of 70 participants were recruited, including HIV-negative pregnant women from an ongoing Parent Study, male partners, pregnant women declining PrEP, and antenatal care providers. One-time in-depth interviews were conducted using semi-structured guides in Chichewa or English, audio-recorded, transcribed, and translated into English. All data are de-identified to maintain participant confidentiality.
