The purpose of this article is to analyze the linguistic and ethical consequences of the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies by high school students in the language learning process. During the research, methods of literature analysis, comparison, and generalization were used. Furthermore, the analysis results indicate that uncontrolled use of AI can lead to a decrease in linguistic competence among students, belief in artificial intelligence "hallucination" errors, violation of academic integrity, and an increase in severe psychological stress. For the effective use of Generative AI in education, it is necessary to implement the principle of "human-AI collaboration", increase AI literacy, and establish ethical norms.
