Sea ice core temperature and salinity data collected during the 2022 SCALE Winter Cruise

The dataset presents temperature and salinity profiles of sea ice cores extracted from in situ sea ice floes and lifted pancakes measured in the Atlantic sector of the Antarctic Marginal Ice Zone during the Southern oCean seAsonal Experiment (SCALE) winter cruise in 2022 (https://www.sapri.ac.za/lto-ocean/scale/) aboard the S.A. Agulhas II. This cruise was funded by the DSTI and NRF in support of the South African scientific community involved in Southern Ocean projects. This included active projects from the South African National Antarctic Program (SANAP) and other projects funded by the NRF. It also involved collaborations with international projects.
