Data for publication at MDPI Insects. Sorted according to Figures in the publication. Fig2: Bright field images of <em>Hypochaeris radicata</em> pollen on glass before and after each of several centrifugation experiments. Centrifugation speed is increased by 1000rpm for each experiment (0rpm, 1000rpm, 2000rpm,...13000rpm). Amount of detached pollen with respect to centrifugation speed quantifies pollen adhesion. We compare the adhesion of fresh and old pollen as well as pollen that aged in contact with the glass. For each group, 4 individual pollen grains were analyzed. Fig4: AFM curves recorded on glass with a fresh <em>H. radicata</em> pollen glued a cantilever. The influence of different contact forces and pulling speeds on the pull-off force was analyzed. Parameters can be found in curve-names. Fig5: AFM curves recorded on glass with a fresh <em>H. radicata</em> pollen glued a cantilever. Pull-off forces were analyzed overnight to analyze the influence of pollen ageing on adhesion. Fig6: AFM curves recorded on glass with an old <em>H. radicata</em> pollen glued a cantilever.
