A new manganese(II) coordination polymer, [Mn2(L1)4/3(L2)2]n (1) (L1 = 4′-(4-pyridyl)-4,2′:6′,4″-terpyridine, H2L2 = (4-phenyl)-2,6-bis(4-carboxyphenyl)pyridine),
has been prepared and structurally characterized. Complex 1 is a 2-fold interpenetrated three-dimensional framework, which to
our knowledge represents the first interpenetration example of coordination
framework with unique (3,6)-connected loh1 topology. Furthermore, the magnetic properties and photocatalytic
activity have been investigated. As a result, complex 1 displays a weak antiferromagnetic interaction among the Mn(II) centers
and good photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methyl orange
solution under ultraviolet light irradiation.
