Population Genomic Study of Pollinating Fig Wasps in Panama

A major unsolved paradox in evolutionary genetics, the paradox of variation, is the lack of correlation between population size and genetic polymorphism. Genetic draft, influenced by recombination rates and population mating structure, is a leading hypothesis to explain this paradox. To investigate relationship between the level of inbreeding and genome-wide nucleotide diversity, we sequenced multiple pollinating fig wasp species in Panama with detailed ecological information using Illumina whole-genome sequencing.
