HadCM3 and MPI-ESM output from idealised volcanic cluster experiments

This repository contains the datasets used in the article <i>"State-Dependent North Atlantic Response to Volcanic Eruption Clusters"</i>. The individual folders (e.g., <i>Fig1</i>, <i>Fig2</i>, <i>Fig3</i>, and <i>Fig4</i>) contain the ensemble mean variables used in the analysis to generate the corresponding plots. The Plots_Manuscript folder includes the figures used in the main text of the article.The <i>Fig1</i> folder contains four subfolders, each holding yearly varying datasets for the global mean TOA net SW radiation, global mean SAT, mean SST over the North Atlantic, and subpolar North Atlantic. These datasets are derived from the PI, LGM, and 12kyr control experiments, as well as the 5N volcanic eruption cluster experiment from HadCM3.The <i>Fig2</i> folder contains datasets from the HadCM3 control experiments, as well as post-eruption 100-year mean DJFM-mean MLD, March mean sea ice fraction, and top 450m mean ocean temperature data from the HadCM3_5N experiments.The <i>Fig3</i> folder provides annual mean anomalies of AMOC, meridional ocean heat transport at 40°N over the Atlantic basin, buoyancy flux within the convection zone, SPG, and DJFM-mean sea ice fraction within the convection zone from the HadCM3_5N experiments.The <i>Fig4</i> folder contains an Excel sheet with relevant information on post-eruption anomalies of global mean SST, North Atlantic SST, top 450 m averaged subpolar North Atlantic ocean temperature, AMOC, and heat transport from the HadCM3_5N, HadCM3_50N and MPI-ESM_5N experiments, used to create Figure 4.
