资源简介:
This 3D model of the Pantheon is falls between a reconstruction and as-built model. The schematic includes a forecourt, colonnades on three sides, and a triumphal arch in the middle. While there is not statuary or reconstructing the gilding, the interior texturing of the marble floor is accurately rendered. The name “Pantheon” is derived from Greek and means “temple of every god,” referring to its original purpose as a Roman temple for people to worship the gods of Roman mythology, such as Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. Located in Rome on the site of a previous temple, it stands today at the front of the square called Piazza della Rotonda. The current structure was completed in 126 AD, but retains the previous structure’s original inscription, causing uncertainty around the current structure’s construction dates. The present construction is believed to have begun in 114 AD, under the rule of Roman Emperor Trajan, four years after it was destroyed by fire for the second time, though the Pantheon is often attributed as a project of his successor, Emperor Hadrian. Research Objective To create a small, yet detailed model that can be used to demonstrate the basics of teaching from 3D models. Contributor Details Research and Modeling: Lisa M.
