Trust It, Fear It, Frustrate Over It, Use It? Understanding Generative AI Adoption in Software Engineering

This replication package contains the data and analysis code for the study “Trust It, Fear It, Frustrate Over It, Use It? Understanding Generative AI Adoption in Software Engineering.” The study investigates how GenAI-related frustrations, AI-related job insecurity, and trust in AI-generated outputs are associated with GenAI adoption among software professionals, using data from the 2025 Stack Overflow Developer Survey. The package includes: dataset.csv: analytical dataset used in the study. Analysis.ipynb: Jupyter Notebook containing the analyses. The notebook reproduces the descriptive analysis, Phi coefficients, VIF diagnostics, multinomial logistic regression, McFadden pseudo-R2R^2, and omnibus Wald tests with Bonferroni correction used to evaluate the study hypotheses. The final analytical sample contains 23,954 respondents.
