The composition, experience evaluation and dissemination path of overseas Chinese village culture

This dataset supports the findings presented in the manuscript entitled "Promoting Culture through Tourism: Elemental Identification, Empirical Assessment, and Dissemination Pathways of Diaspora Culture."

The data were collected through a visitor survey conducted in the Jimei Dashi Overseas Chinese Village (Qiaocun) in Xiamen, China. It comprises two primary components:

Cultural Experience Quality Survey: Contains tourists' ratings on the importance and performance (satisfaction) of various identified Overseas Chinese cultural elements. This data was used for the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA).

Demographic and Elemental Perception Survey: Includes respondents' demographic profiles (e.g., gender, age, income, education, occupation) and their perceptions of core cultural components (architecture, folk customs, cuisine, and spiritual culture). This data facilitated the content analysis and optimal scaling analysis, exploring the associations between visitor characteristics and cultural element perception.
