Coastal Inundation (Enhanced Bathtub Model (eBTM))

The coastal inundation tool comprises of an enhanced bathtub model* (eBTM) that was developed using ArcGIS 10.3 model builder. The model is an improvement on the simple bathtub model in that it considers hydrological connectivity to the coast, beach slope and surface roughness and is best used on focused study areas, with a high resolution DEM, specifically a digital surface model. The output depicts potential inundation pathways based on topography and the maximum inland inundation limits based on the water level specified by the user.

*The model was developed in ArcGIS 10.3, using Windows 7. Later software versions or operating systems may require additional permissions in order for the model to be properly executed. The model also requires the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension.
