资源简介:
Question prompt lists (QPL) are a tool to promote higher levels of patient participation and empowerment in healthcare. QPL are short lists of questions about a specific health condition or disease-related topic, which may relate to treatment options, benefits and risks of these options or prognosis. They are made available to patients so that they can actively seek out the information that is relevant to them during a consultation with a physician or healthcare professional.
QPL have been developed and evaluated primarily in oncology, whereas information on how and for what purpose QPL are used and evaluated in non-oncology contexts (including existing reviews of QPL) is limited. Their prevalence and potential to provide patients with a non-oncological (chronic) illness with relevant information on their disease are therefore unclear.
Therefore, this scoping review addresses the following research question:
In which areas of healthcare except oncology have question prompt lists been developed, implemented, and evaluated with regard to: indications/medical specialties/clinical topics, outcomes assessed, goals/intended use (e.g. as a decision aid, as a tool for promoting health/disease-related knowledge), implementation?
