The heat flux and thus temperature gradient of the Martian crust is critical for comparison with measurements of crustal properties. This allows for constraints upon the inferred thermal history of Mars. Each file contains the heat flux and temperature at several depths as a function of time after Mars formed, but assuming different crustal properties. Methods The data are outputs of a 3D thermal evolution model of Mars (Plesa et al. 2018) at the InSight landing site on Mars (4°N, 136°E). Details of each selected case are presented in Table S1 of the Supplementary Material to Plesa et al. (2018).
