Dataset and Computational Results for "Bridging the Gap: Continuous Casting Scheduling with Transition Slabs"

This repository contains the dataset and computational results for the study "Bridging the Gap: Continuous Casting Scheduling with Transition Slabs". It includes input instances and results obtained using the MIP, GRASP, and GRASP–ILS solution approaches. The files are organized into four folders: 01_Data: Input instances containing the order pools and their attributes. 02_Results_MIP: Casting schedules and detailed solution information obtained using MIP. 03_Results_GRASP: Casting schedules and detailed solution information obtained using GRASP. 04_Results_GRASPxILS: Casting schedules and detailed solution information obtained using GRASP–ILS. Instances are grouped by the number of jobs (10, 20, 100, 300, and 500). File names follow the pattern jobs_grades_instance; for example, 100_01_02 identifies the second instance with 100 jobs and one steel grade. Each result folder also contains overview files, named overview_method_jobs, such as overview_MIP_100. These files summarize the results for each instance, including objective values, cost components, runtimes, and material and setup quantities. They correspond to the detailed individual solution files. Input data and results are provided in .xlsx and .csv formats.
