Trial Registration: From Journal Policies to Practice - An Online Survey of Editors-in-Chief

We conducted an online survey of Editors-in-Chief of rheumatology, orthopedics and sport medicine journals. Eligible journals were active during the survey period and had an identifiable EIC with a valid contact email address. The survey assessed journal policies and editorial practices for trial registration, including management of retrospectively registered trials, verification of registration and registry–manuscript consistency, management of discrepancies, and measures to promote prospective registration. It also assessed EIC’s opinions on the risks and benefits of non-prospective registration.
