The remarkable variability and X-ray spectrum of the narrow-line quasar PHL 1092

PHLvirgul1092 is known for its extreme Xray variability observed by previous Xraymissions (see results from the ROSAT monitoring of the source by Brandt et al1999). The fast and large amplitude variability is common in narrowline typeobjects but rather unusual given the quasartype luminosity of the source(about 10^{45} erg/s in the 0.410 keV restframe). The flux variability isalso associated with complex spectral variability revealed (but poorlyunderstood) from previous relatively short XMMNewton observations. We proposeto observe PHLvirgul1092 with XMMNewton to investigate in great detail the natureof the spectral complexity and of the extreme Xray truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
