WAU007 - Wauyai Maˈya - Conversational Questionnaires, Dialogues E ('A boy falls') and A ('We're going fishing')

This dataset contains dialogues elicited using the Conversational Questionnaire method (François 2019, 'A proposal for conversational questionnaires') from the Wauyai dialect of Maˈya with Pilipus Gimla (born 1955), a native speaker of Wauyai Maˈya. The dialogues were Dialogue E ('A boy falls', page 54 of the Fieldnotes) and Dialogue A ('We're going fishing', pages 43-44 of the fieldnotes). The session was recorded on 18 February 2023, in Waimalata hamlet (Waigeo island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian'.
