Microfinance credit in Egypt Q3 2020, by activity

During the third quarter of 2020, microfinance credit geared towards trade covered 61.3 percent of the microfinance activities. Moreover, microcredit to the agricultural and services sectors occupied 16.9 percent and 14.6 percent of the total capital provided in the same period, respectively. Overall, Egypt's informal economy is significant, and the microfinance institutions aim to increase financial inclusion, widen the tax base, and support small and medium enterprises.
